Sonictizer [SZ-100]
Treatment with real peace of mind is achieved through the safety brought about by uniform ultrasonic radiation.
Minato Medical Science, using its knowhow based on its advanced technology and rich experience, has developed the “Sonictizer” SZ-100 ultrasonic Physiotherapy device, which is the first of its kind.
This is an ultrasonic Physiotherapy device that provides a new sensation, enabling you not only to perform treatment efficiently with peace of mind but gives you a real sense of the treatment through its visual effects.
The top class BNR that enables treatment with real peace of mind
If treatment uses a non-uniform probe, strong ultrasonic are irradiated to localized areas, and there is a danger of damage to living tissue. Whereas a BNR (beam non-uniformity ratio) of 5.0 or less is generally considered good, a BNR of 2.9 or less was achieved for all SZ-100 probes. Safe treatment can be achieved through uniform ultrasonic radiation.
BNR:Beam Non-uniformity Ratio
The BNR (Beam Non-uniformity Ratio) is a figure showing the uniformity of ultrasonic radiated from the probe. As the smaller the BNR is, the more uniform the ultrasonic being radiated are, we can see that this is an excellent probe. Generally, if it is a BNR ≤ 5, it is considered to be good.
Illumination in which the ultrasonic radiation can be confirmed visually
Ultrasonic Physiotherapy have a low bodily sensation compared to low frequency treatments, and if accuracy is lost between the contact states of the probe head and the body, adequate treatment benefits cannot be obtained, so this has the drawback that it is hard to judge whether treatment has been performed successfully. With the SZ-100, a ring-shaped indicator has been adopted for the operating panel and probe, so the treatment state can be observed from anywhere. The illumination displays the contact state and you can judge visually whether the ultrasonic are being suitably radiated.
Characteristics
What is Ultrasonic Physiotherapy?
Ultrasonic are defined as sound wave that vibrates at such a high frequency (20 kHz or more) that they cannot be heard by the human ear. Ultrasonic Physiotherapy is increasing treatment benefits by radiating the mechanical vibrations of the ultrasonic within the body. By radiating with ultrasonic, body cells are warmed by the mechanical vibrations, and the several μm microscopic bubbles in the body are repeatedly contracted and expanded, thus moderately stimulating the cell membranes and activating the cells.
Generally the 2 types of frequency -1MHz and 3MHz are used and as 1MHzreaches the deeper structures, it is suited to treating damage to large muscles. On the other hand, 3MHz works areas up to approximately 2cm from the surface of the body so is suitable for treating the surface area.
Treatment benefits of Ultrasonic Physiotherapy
Hyperthermia effect
When ultrasonic Physiotherapy devices are used for continuous output (100%), the mechanical vibration is converted to heat energy within the body. In particular, the temperature increase in joints is greater than with ultrashort waves and microwaves. This hyperthermia effect promises the following treatment benefits.
- Improved and increased blood flow
- Alleviation of pain
- Improved tissue extensibility
Non-hyperthermia effect
When ultrasonic Physiotherapy devices are used with pulse output (50 to 5%), the following benefits can be expected due to the mechanical vibration within the body. As the generation of heat can be restricted using pulse output, higher strength treatment can be achieved than with continuous output.
- Micro massage benefits
- Improved permeability and activity of cell membranes
In addition to the safety of uniform ultrasonic radiation, there is increased ease of use and comfort for the patient
Ultrasonic Physiotherapy is possible using 2 types of frequency
SZ-100 can perform ultrasonic Physiotherapy at 1 MHz and 3 MHz. You can switch simply between the 2 frequencies using a dedicated key.
This can be combined with a low frequency therapy device
By connecting it to our low frequency therapy device MK-130G, the ultrasonic output and low frequency output (high voltage treatment mode) make combination treatment possible. (the combination cable optional item is required)
There are 3 types of treatment program
We have prepared 3 types of program in order to carry out treatment on a diverse range of disease states, symptoms and areas.
Free program:mode in which the conditions can be set freely each time for the treatment
Preset program:mode in which the program is selected from the programs embedded in advance
User program:mode in which conditions are freely set and the program is chosen from the saved programs
Probe
ERA(effective radiation area)
Three types of probe are prepared in accordance with the treated areas
In the SZ-100, we have line up 3 types of probe – S,M,L in order to radiate the ultrasonic at an output that suits the treated area and symptoms (S,M are included with the main unit). The respective ERA (effective radiation area) are as follows. ERA expresses the areas in which the ultrasonic are actually radiated.
Wagon
SZ wagon (option) in which the main unit and related items are integrated
We have prepared a wagon in which we have collected all of the necessary tools for ultrasonic Physiotherapy, including not only the main unit, probe and gel, but also a box of tissues and garbage bag. It is not only functionally easy to use, but also looks very sleek in the rehabilitation room.
The SZ warmer (attached to SZ wagon) means that you will not feel the cold
We have prepared the dedicated SZ warmer that warms the gel and probe at the same time. This reduces the discomfort caused by the cold sensation when applying gel to the skin or attaching the probe to the painful area and enables comfortable treatment.
